CSHF Special Recognitions & Awards


2007 CSHF Special Recognition Award: Italian American Stars 1967
The Hartford-based I-A Stars won the U. S. Amateur Cup in 1967 and held the distinction as the only Connecticut team to ever do so for 52 years. The Stars lost the 1961 Amateur Cup Final to St. Louis Kutis SC before defeating the same club in the 1967 title game.
2009 CSHF Special Recognition Award: Southern Connecticut State University
Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer program was recognized for excellence by CSHF in 2009 for their numerous national championships and dominance in NCAA Division II soccer. Southern earned it's sixth NCAA title in 1999, the most Division II championships in the United States.
2025 CSHF Legacy Award: Alastair Bell
